do you think a race to beat a ttrpg module, a la Destiny Raid Race, is possible?
Yeah, tournament modules are kind of this. The winners are usually scored on points, though, because especially in old D&D the expectation is you'll die to some trap or encounter.
Well, I don't play MMOs, because I can't deal with strangers in high pressure environments, so I'm going to have to take your work on that.
Imagining folks trying to run Pathfinder APs this way and it seems kind of horrifying. Kind of like that group that just runs whole APs as long, marathon sessions that go for whole weekends, but with the added pressure of being a race.
I bet you could design a game with this concept. A play by post would probably be ideal. If you reframe the race as "beat the module in the least amount of time" to "beat the module in the fewest turns", that could also work.
i don't know if it is but i admit if it were for a good game i'd be delighted to see it
