For a moment, our perspective shifts to a band of bandits standing by a familiar quicksand pit. The especially nasty one in the distinctively large hat is named Vidal, the leader of this crew of vultures, and he's brought along a stuttering mage who explains that at this range he can feel the exact location of the Eye - Four metres under the quicksand. Declaring that knowing its location should make retrieval easy, Vidal kicks the mage into the pit and continues marching for revenge upon our party, who in the meantime are venturing into hostile territory.

@Scampir asked:

Is there a particular reason the SSC Monarch was chosen for the new Lancer Cover?

Tom wanted it, he believes the Monarch is probably Lancer's most iconic frame. There were early sketches where I suggested using the Nelson, a suit I personally like more and felt occupied a similar space to the Monarch in terms of recognizability. In the end we went with the Monarch because we wanted the cover mech to be a "canon" design, and the Monarch's standard red color scheme makes it stand out.

The funny thing is I've drawn the Monarch so many times but it's not even my favorite Lancer design! If I had it my way, I'd be drawing HA and IPS-N more often. You'd see nothing but Tokugawas jousting with Nelsons. I'd be drawing a Sherman fistfighting a Tortuga in an ideal world.

Hiiii friends -- I'm looking to expand my horizons on here a bit, so if you have any fun recommendations for accounts around pixel art/retro games/modern games with retro game aesthetics, I'm all ears! (I follow the usual tags, but surely I'm still missing some good stuff!)

Mainly, I just want to see all kinds of gorgeous reference so I can feed it directly to my growing pixel art habit :)
