So far, with my admittedly limited experience with cohost, the thing I find I like the most is also... kind of a bad thing for the site? Specifically, I love how it's impossible for me to mindlessly scroll through the site because - there's not enough posts to actually make my home feed that long. There's just not that many people posting here. And on the one hand, I love that! I like that I can share stuff and engage with this platform without getting too distracted by it, it feels a lot healthier than a site like Twitter or Tumblr. On the other hand... this is basically antithetical to the success of the site. Cohost needs to get bigger, gain more users, have more posts, to become self sustaining. As much as I wish it could stay a kind of small, more tightly knit thing, that's not conducive to the site actually persisting, afaik. There's other things that help, I think - not having recommended posts/users means I follow less people, and have less clutter as a result. It's not just the site being small. But, still, feels weird.

Something I experimented with when I had this feeling was just searching a ton of different tags and following a ton of people (at least now they have a search page, did not at launch lol). I would never do this on Other Sites but there's some combination of "don't know if these people will ever be active" and "most of the people here are Cool" I would say I have a fairly diverse feed these days with a steady income of content!

The other end of that is that you sometimes see the same thing shared so many times that it floods your feed. The staff has said they're working on solutions to this though!
