I want to read more books - but I'm worried my reasoning for wanting so is flawed. It's not so much 'reading is a good way to expose yourself to new worldviews and learn', so much as 'if you don't read, you're an idiot and lesser of a human being for only deriving entertainment from useless things like social media' - which seems a hell of a lot more puritan than I should be living my life.

In any case what usually happens is, instead of thinking 'oh, I should read a book', I think, 'oh, I haven't read a book in a while, fuck you', which is pretty counterproductive.

I've been messing with a Playdate the past few days (graciously lent to me by @wooby). I've wanted one for a while now, but could never quite justify the price tag, especially with the concern that I'd use it for a week and it'd sit collecting dust after.

It hasn't been a week so, jury is still out on that one, but I'm really surprised by how polished this thing is. It feels really solid and weighty, the ui and operating system has a Nintendo level of polish and charm, even the developer documentation is clear and easy to use. It's nice to see!
