I like to draw and code and sometimes do other things.
A while back I got an arcade stick and some buttons... I have no interest in fighting games but I wanna make some absurd arcade gamepad thing.
I'm glad some cohost features exist as userscripts/styles primarily and not as part of the base site, so people can choose if they want something that might be kind of unecessary - but the sticky sidebar and sticky feed avatars feel like. Why isn't this just part of the base thing, y'know.
I recently set up my NUC with a 2TB ssd and syncthing. Now, everything in some big folders on my pc gets synced to it, for some basic file backup. Nothing crazy, but it was easy to setup and works well.
Recently I was thinking about how I wanted to have my music on my phone locally. Not necessary, the bandcamp app is alright, but it decouples me from needing mobile data when I'm on the go. Plus, now if I find some weird song I can't access on bandcamp, I can download it and toss it on there and have everything in one spot.
The main caveat being, remembering to sync files to my phone sucks. I always forget to do it and it makes the whole thing more inconvenient than anything else.
You can see where I'm going with this, right?
Syncthing has an Android client. I downloaded it from the play store, my computer auto-detected it, and a very easy setup later, my music folder is now being synced between devices - but only on my home network. I can download some weird song off youtube or some other service, throw it in my music folder, and without even thinking about it, it'll go to my phone where I can play it via VLC. And it's being backed up to my NUC too, because why not.
