I assume it's not just the generics with altered human DNA in them, but I don't know if that would be enough to call them different "races" instead of just different "species" entirely.
i feel like species makes more since with all the differences between them overall. maybe races would be an acceptable name for subspecies, like the various types of plant people that exist. id definitely consider it races in the case of ice cream peoples flavors, but i dunno in other cases their differences might be too great to call them races.
