I wanna say: here in britain a few years ago a tory MP was stabbed to death and it had no effect on a single election whatsoever and even the tories forgot about it the next day
The belief that these events can only mean good things for the political party involved is so unbelievably condescending towards the general population in a way I can't really articulate. People don't have a lot of sympathy for assholes!
