Original idea was different kinds of cheese for each piece type and shape for which side they are but maybe that would be tricky to implement cheeses that are visually distinct enough?
That would be very good! There's a post floating aorund somewhere about a GM for DnD using snacks in place of monster minis and letting the players eat what they kill. I think rewarding people for being good at games with a little snack is good design.
