I wonder whether there's a name for whatever is going on, architecturally speaking, at the top of the Charing Cross Road. You know, the massive new theatre with all the geometric silver decoration, and the massive don't-know-what-it-is building that's all black and gold, and the building next to Foyles that looks like a set from a Thor film. Is this some kind of... neo-Baroque? Retail park deco?
Whatever it is, it feels like the architectural equivalent of turning up to a food bank in a Rolls Royce.
