• he / him / his

Anyway on Sunday we went for a little walk round the neighbourhood and met two of the friendliest local cats.

One's called Max, a slim black cat who loves to show you his bum because he doesn't understand that this is not how humans make friends, and who's always covered in bits of debris from rolling around on the pavement. We almost didn't see him but he saw us go past and did a big croaky meow to get us to stop and fuss over him.

The other is one we call Bridget – not her real name but the third time we met her we tried to guess what she might be called, and Pear said Brenda and I said Widget. Or maybe it was the other way round. Bridget is a tabby with a few bright orange stripes mixed in. She has a small face and small paws and a big dangling belly, and she likes to sit on the wall across the street from the community centre and generously receive scritches and strokes.

So that was a good walk.
