Watched Detective Pikachu for the second time after seeing it in theaters when it came out and.... man I'm just so glad that a movie like this was able to be made with such clear reverence for the material it's adapting. It's so meaningful to me that this film was created in such a way that it feels right at home alongside the Pokémon anime film series, both in spirit and in the way that it strongly hints at shared canon with Mewtwo Strikes Back.
