I am deeply amused by this observation, both because those are deeper cuts that only people knee deep into obscure-ish shmups would care about, and also because I feel the exact opposite.
The context was we were flipping through old Sega magazines trying to find something, and we came across some screenshots of Bio-Hazard Battle. We weren't familiar with it, and I had just seen Retropals play Chimera Beast, so that was my gut impression!
Hey, that's totally fair! Chimera Beast is a solid shmup, and it's a shame that the game wasn't finished, as that's the only thing working against it IMO.
As for Bio-Hazard Battle, defos watch a longplay of it if you have the time, and if you don't, give the OST a listen. That game has an immaculate vibe, and the soundtrack is 90% of it.
