I want to make a 3D platformer, but all I know is Gamemaker, and 3D in gamemaker is Agonizing, to say the least. The latest versions stripped out the ability to render simple cubes with one line of code, now I have to manually input all the vertices and tris and stuff, and I just can't do it. I was working on a Wolf3D-style FPS beforehand, but without the ability to easily render cubes, I just can't work on it any more.
I really really really recommend at least trying out Godot since it's what I transitioned to after game maker, it's well documented and the only tricky part is you gotta learn how delta time works.
also a tip if you want a classic FPS camera in godot set the camera to frustum.
If you do decide to check it out you can DM me for any help you need too.
