You know considering recent events I think I'm done with game consoles.

Feel like most of my real entertainment these days have come from older games and indie projects.

Like my friends can vouch about how I won't shut up about games like Pseudoregalia and Corn Kidz 64, when I play new games on console it feels like I'm just getting through it for the sake of it instead of just really enjoying myself.

heck I'm enjoying Baldi's basics more then I have with a lot of other recent games.

I haven't had any interest in Playstation or Xbox for years and considering their recent practices I'm especially not interested.

But considering Nintendo see's it fit to sue people into oblivion and ruin their lives because they didn't make "all" the money on a game that checks notes sold over 30 million copies and that somehow "hurt the consumer" they can cry me a river, I think I'm done with them too.
It also kinda feels weird how people act like Nintendo's superior to Sony and Microsoft while they've literally been ruining people's lives over petty "we didn't make 1% more money" reasons that aren't even true.

I feel similar. I'm pretty tired of seeing post about how unlike other companies Nintendo treats their employees well and makes great games without laying off staff when they literally union bust, steal ideas from fan games (Mario Royale), steal entire ideas from other studios like what happened with Argonaut Games, use fan emulators to aid development of their games and then take them down among so much more. Idk how people can act like Nintendo isn't far worse then many other big companies when it comes to morality.

Even so I still feel they make more appealing titles to me personally compared to 90% of the Triple A industry despite recent Nintendo franchises starting to chase trends such as every game needing to be open world.

I've been drifting towards indie games the past decade and I can't think of any games in development by bigger studios I'm actually looking forward to.

I completely understand the disdain for consoles at this point especially with how anti-consummer they are becoming with recent examples being lack of support for physical media, companies being able to remove games you've paid for from your library, an over reliance on updates for titles to be complete, subscription services for online services that cost nothing to maintain and so on.

Long live indies.
