I'm posting two just in case this read by someone who doesn't have a Finnish person's tolerance for Christmas songs in minor key.
my favorite carols are in a minor key, as it happens. so i'm happy. this is quite lovely!
It's a classic Finnish Christmas song called The Gnome. The lyrics are about an old house gnome going around checking on the humans and animals of the household while they sleep during a cold winter night, thinking about the generations he has seen pass him by and wondering about the nature of time itself.
I assumed that when you said "secular" gnomes would still be okay, as they aren't TECHNICALLY religion.
