transcript:

It’s another concerning morning here, and a good morning to you. I’m Albert Fraid and this is, unfortunately, The News. Today, we’re seeing unprecedented growth in worries around a conflict, and that growth has been predicted to keep rising in direct relation to fears.

AF: Joining me today is Walter Orrisom, have I got that right?
WO: It’s Orrisom, I’m afraid.
AF: As am I. Now, Walt, you’ve been covering the concerns around this conflict since it first broke out, but what I want to know is, why are we afraid?
WO: Well fear’s a funny thing, isn’t it? It’s not really something you, have. For example, just yesterday I spoke with someone who wasn’t afraid. In this day and age, can you believe it-
AF: For all you kids out there, it is possible to not be afraid.
WO: Ahahah! Well I’m not so sure about that. You see, as I told him about fears around a conflict, his terror grew in direct correlation to the fears.

AF: I can imagine, something like- if my phone were constantly going off, it’d be kind of similar. But all the time, and you can’t escape it.
WO: Basically the same thing.
AF: Yeah.
WO: Got that entirely right. Black Mirror.
AF: Have you tried listening to the screams?
WO: Well, that would just be giving into the fear, you see. And I’m not a big believer in, giving into fear.
AF: Of course not.
WO: Only that the fear spreading, will make it-
AF: Keep going.
WO: -boil over, into a- sea, of, further terror and conflict. Yeah?
AF: That’s exactly right. I think we can all agree to that.
WO: Ah thank god.
AF: Now, you are a conflict reporter, yes?
WO: …well… the way I see it, is the conflict tends to report itself. I’m just here to report on… the fears, around whatever conflict might be happening.
AF: Sure, sure, we all are.
WO: And if the conflict spreads, then we have to cover it either way.
AF: So, if I understand this correctly, by talking about and reporting on the fear around the conflict, then the conflict… won’t spread?
WO: I’m pretty sure.
AF: I see, I see. This is all pretty high-level stuff, but of course, the main question is, how will the economy be a-
