i was at a little thanksgiving-lite get-together with austin's side of the family. there's a two-year-old kid there who's parents were trying their best to enjoy themselves while he kept screaming. so i went Aunt Sheri mode and watched the kid for a while.
he really liked hitting toys against an exercise bike which made a terribly loud sound. instead of stopping him, i held up some of his other soft toys and said "i wonder what sound this makes!" and he was so excited and high fived me afterwards
see, he's at the age where he's just started talking, and thus to him, every guy is dada and every woman is mama. but i'm openly non-binary, and the kid didn't seem able to guess with me. so he called me "dada" sometimes and "mama" others. it honestly was EVERYTHING
