canvassing job. not for an issue i believe in. had a massive nose bleed, an app that simply had incorrect map data for our area, was told to ignore no soliciting signs "until we are yelled at", had a woman chase me down the street screaming at me thinking i stole a package, ate shit running in when i was late because we still had to canvas in tornado-warning storm conditions, and all of it was being coordinated by millennials in a fucking discord server
not a single person there wanted to be there, everyone was chasing that bag. it sucked so bad. i would've kept going if it was for abortion rights but i was misled into thinking it'd be that by the recruiter.
i met some cool people. i also met some terrible people. i shouldn't talk more about it until the campaign is officially over. jesus fucking christ, though.
edit: addendum: ballot collection ends this week no matter what so i would've not had the job anymore anyways, lest you think i'm one of those "if work bad just quit! no big deal" types. i'm privileged to be able to do this and go back to somewhat successful writing work
