the amount of "just scraping by" i've had to do these past couple years has me asking if there's even somewhere to go where i won't be scraping
every time i'm briefly caught up on bills my head is pulled back under by a sudden roommate, or a medical emergency, or a "once in a lifetime" recession
eating is hard enough for me on a budget let alone dead broke. at least EBT resets soon. but poverty, until next time, i'll see you again. i get food money but also have to scrounge for rent. making less and less money every month as expenses ever grow
until next time, you question why it's cheaper to buy a gun than it is to live for a month until next time, begging on the phone for the bank to give you back the $36 per transaction they took out while you were too sick to get back out of the black
until next time poverty, i'll still be here. i don't think i can leave you like how the sky follows you at distance ever-present. poverty is a skyline with the promise of 'making it' always a horizon
