finished pseudoregalia today. great little 3d metroidvania with great platforming. i always love entries in the genre that are less prescriptive in what order you have to tackle areas in and let you go on massive exploratory tangents, a la sotn or hollow knight, and pseudoregalia excels in that regard. most of the map is open to you very early in the game, and smart use of your moveset lets you "sequence break" (if this game even really has a sequence) without even realizing it. (you would not believe how long i went without getting the wall run.) it's so fun just figuring out how to traverse simple blocky geometry because sybil's moveset is so versatile and expressive. i do wish it had a map, but that’s apparently already being patched in, and even without one i only really got "lost" a couple times. definitely highly recommended

Lol yeah I also got the wall run near the end because I didn’t even realize you could get to that area, which is a shame because it’s one of the most fun abilities and also really strong - it’s the only one besides the slide that the speedrun gets
me and one of my friends tried speedrunning it for a bit, there are some cool secret mechanics for moves like the slide that let you pull off insane jumps. in awe of the fact they put this thing together in just a few weeks
