Thought this was a bizarre anti-teamwork screed until I remembered the other meaning of the word "collaboration".
It specifically means working with people oppressing your community.
Thinking about it, I guess it comes from WWII, like "nazi collaborators" were people in Poland/France/etc who worked with the nazis to save their own skin. It was probably a euphemism originally, but now the word itself has taken on that connotation.
even in French history lessons they don't dare look away or try to minimize what Pétain did with Vichy; despite the curriculum being real lax about the shit the Allies did. the only ppl who are trying to redeem Pétain's name in 2024 are chummy with neo-nazis.
God, I forgot about Pétain. I could swear I remember hearing his name used as a swear word before ...
you might be thinking about "putain" which is close but is just French for "fuck" :p
