Question of the Day!
What effect did the fall of Dalamud have on your WoL?
(submitted by @GraceHorizon)
I was at the fall of Dalamud and the Battle of Carteneau Flats. I was there to witness Bahamut and all his fury. I saw the fall of the White Raven and her tempering. I watched the Great Hero of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn sacrifice himself. I watched it all. I felt my memory grow hazy of certain faces and particulars. I still bear scars and nightmares of those events and I- still weep for the great folly. Even knowing that it was precisely what his Radiance wanted.
What effect did it have on me? Personally? It added names to my arm. It helped prove to me that everything Tajhia had taught me to believe was correct. The great folly of Empire, that the veneer of the military might makes right of my nation was in error. That my decision to continue on and be a good member of the party, and do my duty and quietly, slowly work against the Imperial Regime, to try and sow the seeds of a return to a republic, and quietly make sure certain details of intelligence were omitted, or simply never made it to HQ.
It was an affirmation of many things. Including that I can kill, but that I take no joy or pleasure in it. That it tastes foul on my tongue and turns my stomach.
