i fucking hate enterpriseware i hate it so much i hate it so fucking much. i hate the delay before absolutely fucking everything. i hate clicking a link that's 500 characters of line noise that tells me nothing about what i'm clicking on, and it opens a browser tab and goes through 6 flickering page reloads as it hits a completely different authentication route than its ever taken before, only to land me on sharepoint, and then it sits for ten seconds throbbing before it opens a fucking modal (WHY, WHY A MODAL, JUST OPEN A NEW FUCKING PAGE YOU FUCKS) and then I'm suddenly looking at a onenote workbook, and I click on a subtab and it POPS A FUCKING THROBBER FOR 45 SECONDS TO LOAD 16 KB OF DATA

every single person involved with this should never work in software again

I've kind of come to terms with the fact that using Software At Work is just always going to be a dogshit experience, because "let's go back and make things better" is never on the priority list of any enterprise software ever

I'm just begging them to find an icon color that isn't blue. Six out of the eleven icons on my taskbar are blue and most of them are round. At least five times a day I get confused by clicking on the wrong thing and then I've lost my train of thought and it's just so irritating for no reason on top of everything else that sucks about work software

because it has a thousand dependencies on some goddamn "tenant" and "federation" and all these goddamned tentacles that reach out into so many other systems that

deep breath

ABSOLUTELY NOBODY ON YOUR IT TEAM WILL EVER, EVER FULLY UNDERSTAND

That's when it doesn't get you stuck on a page saying WS9898PRD04.east-int.corporate.com could not be reached, and you have no idea what it even is.

Then if you reload it asks to check your phone for a SMS verification code. Which doesn't come until you request a second one. Then once you figure the code you got was for that first attempt, which is now invalid, and need to wait for a second code.

Then once you get through that, you a page from a Microsoft service about how the page could not be verified.

And trying again then finally gets you to a page saying that this page cannot be accessed from your location, and suddenly Outlook 365 is logged out.

you open outlook web only for it to casually say "hang on we're signing you out", no damn it there was still an active session stop that crap, then you log back in through the azure sso page only to have it hang while redirecting through several dozen domains with unrecognizable names that you've never seen before, all the while hoping you didn't just hand your creds to a phishing page because most of them say nothing about microsoft at all, then you have to go refresh teams web in the other tab only for it to hang on a blindingly white page for an eternity, even though you have had the dark theme enabled since the very first time you logged in
