So what you wanna do is look for a tab that says "Releases" on it and grab the download from there. If there isn't a Releases tab, look for a dropdown button that says "Code", click it, and then hit "Download ZIP" on the bottom of it.

It is not the most intuitive process.

i used to get linked directly to the releases page and still couldn't figure out how to download from there. i understand it now but for anyone not familiar with downloading build artifacts, github releases are a really confusing place to download things from. it's like when spigot downloads used to link to a jenkins page

this is how to download a repo but the less-known and even far less intuitive thing i think is clicking "raw" at the top right of a file to go to it directly, where you can download it (or, you know, right clicking that and save as)

How many times have you been bit by the incredible UI design where the "clone" link gives you the main branch, which is not necessarily the one you see when you go to the repo's URL?

Someone's gonna be pwned by that eventually.
