does anyone have a solution to this? a way to just direct someone's attention to a cool thing short of just sending them a link outside of the site?

I'm pretty sure that's a feature that won't be implemented, since one of Cohost's aims is (or seems to, I'm not staff) to detach a lot of the "pings" that most social media gives you.
The logic makes sense, but it obviously sucks when you want to grab someone's attention.
I just can't imagine even the most detached social media imaginable where you can't gently get someone's attention. that's wild to me
