Okay so Tomb Raider Remastered added a new difficulty to all three games with New Game+. The way it affects each of the three games is slightly different, but it boils down to:
- Start the game with every gun from that game, and no meds
- All meds are replaced with more ammo drops
- All enemies are more aggressive and have more health and do more damage
- All sources of environmental damage are almost always lethal
- All quick saving (in TR1 and 3) and cheats are disables
- TR1 re-adds the one-time save crystals from the PS1 version, and they now heal you on use
- TR2 replaces the three-secret reward from every level with meds
- TR3 re-adds the one-time save crystals from the PS1 version, and they now heal you on pickup
Having progressed a few levels into TR1 NG+, it's basically a survival horror game now. I had a moment in Qualopec where I was running towards a save crystal with 10% health left and raptor I forgot about spawned somewhere off screen and a screech broke the silence and I actually went "oh FUCK" and flipped around and ran away to find high ground
