I don't understand the whole "We love each other but we don't have to like each other," thing that some families have going on, mine included. It sounds like just another way to excuse family from doing heinous shit, akin to "You have to forgive each other, because you're family."
I mean.... Does it matter if there's a difference between "Love" and "Like" if it leads to the same outcome? Feeling like you don't belong in that family? Then again, my family's kind of old fashioned so this sentiment might not be as common as I think it is.
