Another player critfails their save against a wind elemental, gets thrown 60ft off the side of a mountain cliff. Utterly flubs their save to grab the edge. Falls 500ft in one round, doesn't hit the ground. The gang is all like, yea, rip.
Anyway, I'm playing a druid, so after some brief GM fast-talking (I was already flying in the same general space as said falling player), got to use my cool-ass wild shape, turned into a dragon, voluntarily 'fell' 500ft to catch up, critically succeeded my test to catch them, critically succeed my test to avoid ridiculous lightning storms, and thus save the day, while also taking us out of the fight for the next two turns.
I got a hero point for it and I damn well fucking better because that was so sick I just spent 5 minutes writing a post bragging about it.
