why don't they go after the believable conspiracies. For example:
"NASA successfully landed with previous missions, but after the apollo 13 oxygen stir disaster, a rapid response team within the CIA was activated, Stanley Kubrick was flown over, the prepared set was deployed, and a tape of the Apollo 13 crew landing on the moon was made in case they didn't make it back alive, so the Soviets didn't know our margins were this thin. This is the tape all the conspiracy theorists have been hearing rumors about."
This is like the conspiracy theory that the recording of the first moon landing was fake but all subsequent moon landings and recordings are the real deal
yeah, they had to do a lot of groundbreaking science to make it look correct (you need to broadcast the film by pointing a video camera at a projection of the film, as film wouldn't be believable, but every flaw gets magnified), so they decided to just do the extra 10% that was left and land the stuntmen there for real.
