this kinda makes it sound like they were actually saying what i been saying, which is that this dimwitted paper towel tube focus on LLM is actively detrimental to any presumed mission to create AI for real
considering that i don't think we are anywhere near responsible enough as a society to have AI right now i'm going to forego judgement on whether this is good or bad and just vote that they tear each other to shreds fighting about it and never recover
the rate of engineering is pretty slow and even then they're extremely underpaid so I'm not like, worried.

lol they are? you know i've never actually checked what kinds of salaries openai takes, but i guess that would go hand in hand with their "hiring for cultist mentality" strategy with a dual justification tying it up in a neat little bow
it's competitive but not for those hours or the type of work imo, from what I've heard from people
