with two partners, a child, and often several roommates, it can be hard to find a private moment to talk with my partners about something that's upsetting me and even harder to find a private place to cry while i wait for that moment. the bathroom is decent but even i can't make a shower & bath last longer than 3 or 4 hours, and sometimes i have to wait all day, till our kid's asleep, to talk.
so, i cry in my car a lot. well, not a lot, not even once a month. but when i do cry it's more often than not in my car.
it's mine, so no one else is going to assume they can use it to drive somewhere without asking me first, so my partners and roommates won't walk in on me. to anyone else going past on the street, cars are objects, especially while parked - they won't be looking for someone inside and definitely won't be looking close enough to see that i'm crying and if for some nosy reason they do, they're the one making the situation awkward.
my car has temperature control, and speakers for music, and even a charger for my phone. it's a bit cramped, but that's the only major downside. all in all, a 9/10 place to cry - i can even drive down the street to sonic for some ice cream if i need a treat.
