i'd really like to take a basic dance class so i can learn some more-interesting "default moves" and get an idea of how actual dancers go about choreographing things, but when i tried Jazz Dance 1 at my local art center it was way too difficult. like i could follow along with each move while the teacher walked us through it slowly, but when we started learning a whole dance i couldn't keep track of both how to do the moves technically And which move came next.
there was only a handful of students in class but we ran the whole gamut from "never taken a Dance Class before" to "dedicated dancer who helped teach ballet but hadn't done jazz in particular yet", so it makes sense that i was able to keep up with the specific jazz moves but not the general skill of learning choreo quickly. so i'd really like to find a class that is even more For Beginners so i can keep up. but there's just not a lot of stuff like that for adults... maybe like, fitness-centered classes, but while dance is my favorite form of exercise i am Not gonna vibe with Fitness People lmao
