ok i'm a liittle late because i forgot to look up what time zone the contest time was in but that's fine. i spent less than 2 hours on it and that's what matters!!

feedback totally welcome! the workflow for this sort of quick jingle is very different from my usual, since i usually spend months tweaking lyrics before i even touch my DAW, and this has no lyrics at all! the only other time i've done this sort of thing was when i was working on a game jam with some friends. but it's definitely fun, it's a really good way to work on more technical skills. esp with such a unique prompt!

hey cool! instrument choice very good here, and i think the overall mood is dialed in really nicely. if i were thinking about areas to improve, since you asked about feedback, i would think more carefully about the overall direction and contour of the melodic part - taking shapes/groups of notes and/or rhythms and reusing them, sending parts in an upward or downward direction for a while, hitting a high point/more intense point later in the phrase, stuff like that. i definitely get that this was a timed restriction and you would no doubt be spending more time deliberating otherwise (you even said as much haha), but i do sense that writing melodies with more intentionality could go a long way in a piece like this :D

good point!! i usually start with sung lyrics/melodies and i do that bit basically on instinct, so i'm a little lost when it comes to writing a tune directly into a DAW like damn how do i even do this with my voice what am i instinctively doing that makes it sound good... so thank you for these concrete tips!!

Your long hashtag reminded me I that at one point in time I set up a bunch of sets of template tracks so I wouldn't spend so much time on sound choice. To this day, I have never used them, lol.

One thing that works well in the song is you don't at all overcrowd the mix sonically. So in spite the kind of low-key nature of the song, everything sounds big since everything has it's place. I like the sound of the "clap" (?) noise in this.

I like the light airy feeling of the song. It gives off the feeling of fluttering movement which I think fits the theme well. Good job!
