I really want to get back to trying to earn at least an associate's degree, but it's hard to commit to a regular semester schedule on top of my usual work. I took two online classes through a local community college a couple years ago, and it went great at first, but I landed a new full time job near the end of the semester and didn't have much time left for coursework, so I mostly missed the last couple units.

I'm currently underemployed again so this would be a great time to take some classes, except I don't want to have to drop them when my work situation changes! It would be so much better if I was allowed to spend a lot of time on coursework when I can, and pause when I can't, without semester schedules or "this unit doesn't unlock until the week it's due" getting in the way.

I know good self-paced online courses have to exist because I can't be close to the only person in this kind of situation, but I also know there are quite a few shitty scammy online schools out there. And I'm worried that the less traditional a school is, the more likely it is to be less legit too, or even just less respected? I tried googling, but I feel even less confident in trusting a school that puts a lot of work into marketing and SEO.

So, any recommendations for online colleges that offer self-paced courses? Or warnings for which to avoid? I'm majoring in business administration, if that matters.

anyone have recs for melodic noise, or music with noise elements or weird percussion/synths/samples?

music wise i'm especially fond of edm, dreampop, maybe indie rock, complex harmonies or rounds, and mixes of modern and classical sounds. noise i know less about, but i think i prefer stuff that's more dynamic rather than monotonous, and has elements of tone and rhythm though not necessarily in a usual musical way.

however i am looking to find new things, so i'm not sure what genres or qualities i might like even better than my current faves! so suggest whatever :)

hi everyone what are you up to!!! i'm at the ER with my boyfriend who was throwing up blood, no need for sympathy it is what it is, it's just ER waits are sooo long so i would love to chat about anyone's OCs or hobbies or coworker drama or whatever!

i'm also considering renaming my game from "Madeliestrom" which is the name of the town it takes place in, to "Be, Daisy" which is a line from the thematic credits song. any opinions on which sounds more appealing for a multimedia fantasy friendsim about healing and finding yourself?

imo the first is both more memorable bc it's unique but also less memorable bc it's not english (it's basically dutch). fantasy names can blur together... but at least the pronunciation and spelling here are fairly obvious. it's cute and fun to say, but it doesn't tell you that much? i can't even tell if it would sound cute to other people, maybe i just know that it means daisy stream and it's a sweet little village. but i do really like it.

the second is easier to remember bc it's just two simple english words, and the comma in the middle is cute. but thematic two word titles can also blur together. it definitely paints more of a picture, everyone knows daisies are simple and cute and springtime. and the "be" is the core of the game's themes, so it's much more connected to what the game is about. but do i want to reveal the theme so early? like if you've seen the summary you'll know it. and the thing opens on the credits song. but that's different from putting it in the title! and the line in the song might not hit right if you're too busy going "yooo callback!" but maybe that's not a big deal.

much to think about... it would be fine either way which is the hardest kind of choice!!
