oh geez, just heard the news out of vancouver. ryan reynolds was torched to death by a beam of light from the heavens. yeah the report described him as being “only carbon now” which strikes me as a little insensitive but i guess that’s the modern world for you.
the thing about patreon is that, regardless of any concerns about their business practices re: changing fees, source of funding, etc etc, it is just miserable dogshit awful software to use. trying to fix payment methods and the site just Doesn't Load Pages more than half the time and when it does they're slow as hell. everything is locked behind js click events so i can't even open in a new tab, and changing anything drops you back to the home page where you have to go four pages deep again to do anything. hell on earth
i am stuck with a persistent "Your payment to [x] didn't go through" because, six months ago, i got a new debit card and forgot to change it immediately in patreon. it still has not attempted to charge these again despite me changing the payment method months ago. i have no idea how to even attempt to fix this because everything i would have considered (such as: cancelling and restarting my subscription manually) Doesn't Fucking Do Anything
managed to trick it into working for (almost) everyone by playing payment method musical chairs. this sort of shit should not be necessary.
i say "almost" everyone because try as i might it refuses to acknowledge ANYTHING i do for @cathoderaydude. sorry gravis, i am trying but the software is blocking me.
