can also vouch for Lost In Time as one of Tramis's adventure games if you want something a little less intense both in the sense of theme (you're a Black woman traveling through time, and you start teleported onto a slave ship so it's still pretty intense) and puzzles (you mostly can't die until the very end but some of these puzzles still get pretty difficult)
