I've seen a tendency for people to act like twitter was the only place to share their stuff, and that cohost somehow doesn't do that. this has always been nonsense, but especially now.

share your stuff! share your art and writing! share podcasts you're working on or speaking in! share streams you're doing! show us your stuff darnit!

and if you're not doing any of that, like. my first post was just "egg"

just post

in reply to @yaodema's post:

Unfortunately people have gotten used to the sort of algorithmic feeding available platforms like Twitter and having to rely on each other to share stuff is like trying to use a muscle that has atrophied. It takes a while to get back into it.

I definitely feel like cohost can be a bit sparse at times, but also like, yeah, the main way to fix that is to just post things. I was/am always SO BAD at doing this on other platforms, but hopefully the cozier vibes of this makes it less anxiety-inducing to throw something out there.

last time i tried sharing stuff from my website with every tag i could think of I barely got any hits on it, like under 10. My abandoned twitter auto tweeted that review out and it still got more impressions from there.

I really really end up using this more of a journal site ala FA journals of old rather than the freelance stuff i wanna do because discoverability here is miserable for those who actually need a social media profile for their work so i really hope they fix that ASAP

I wish I could but a lot of times it seems like people aren't interested or don't usually care what on I post. It's hard and puts some pressure on what I should post here, like I have to play into peoples' biases just to get recognized on here.
