A nice budget option for doing exactly this is the Razor Seiren Mini, specific the pink one. The other colors won't work for it.
For real though, it's actually a pretty good warm mic, and it works really well for leaning in close and speaking very softly.
I recently upgraded to a Shure SM7B which is very nice, but I’m quite conscious that it doesn’t make financial sense for most people, given that it’s an order of magnitude more expensive than the one you’ve suggested.
