just a silly little creature

a 30-something cat creature with gender confusion
I really like PSO1, Elder Scrolls, weird old games, prog music, mac and cheese, and other things but I'm really bad at remembering stuff when I want to make a list
I wish I could be isekai'd into a world that sucked slightly less

i haven't tried it myself yet (still have to give a second try to Doom 2016) but everything i hear about Eternal's gameplay sounds overtuned, contrived, and terribly unfun

and i would be coming from a place of not particularly loving 2016

If you're not a fan of 2016, Doom Eternal is just that but way fucking harder. It basically requires you to be switching weapons honestly every 5 seconds, hitting the flame thrower, the frag grenade, the ice grenade, the chainsaw, doing dashes, jumping around, shooting precise spots on enemies to disable certain attacks, etc. It's fucking nonstop bullshit and you can't see at all because if you're not neck deep in a demon's taint doing a glory kill that changes the direction you're facing every time you do one, you're trying to see through the thick smear of raspberry jam that indicates low health (you'll always be at low health). Maybe I'm just fucking bad at it but I'm playing on Hurt Me Plenty, the default difficulty, the "normal mode," and it's fucked up.

sounds awful. you have just reinforced every conception i have of it. i do anticipate hating it, yes.

i don't think you should regularly run out of ammo for your staple weapons in a fucking doom game. (i also think more ammo just magically generating because you did a boring QTE kill on an enemy is just hard to get past as a concept)
