recommend me indie Metroidvania games. lean more towards the Vania than the Metroid side. not hollow knight I don't like that one very much. cool side scrolling hack and slashers are welcome too.

I really like PSO1, Elder Scrolls, weird old games, prog music, mac and cheese, and other things but I'm really bad at remembering stuff when I want to make a list

I'm a little iffy on super difficult games but the momodora games are so pretty that I feel like I should try them. Same for Luna Nights.
i didn't personally find momodora RUTM that hard. i'm a huge fan of that game and its sequel.
i'm also not a fan of HK fwiw and i think momodora is wayyyy easier
have you tried the Guacamelee games? pretty fun imo
Timespinner very much feels like an unreleased fourth DS Castlevania game, with a bit of time travel and a lot of queer characters thrown into the mix. (It's also one of my favorite games, with a sequel in the works)
