Me in the far future, when two different schools' history professors tell me that they've heard rumors of a cache of Fossilized Extreme Sport Beans
The most confusing part of this revelation is that you can still buy them
I remember seeing some at a store when I was traveling and I was so thrilled that the only thing anyone heard about from me was "sport beans" for at least half an hour
were they supposed to have electrolytes or something? or were they just gatorade flavored
sports candy is actually pretty common! frequently they're just sugar, sometimes also electrolytes, often (like these) caffeine as well
they're useful for endurance sports because as you get hours deep into an activity your digestive system starts to struggle to process real food but you still need fresh calories to keep going
the main difference from normal candy is mostly fewer ingredients for easier digestion and being slightly bland for to stay palatable on an upset stomach (and being way more expensive)
