Sometimes I think I I'm too big of a hater when it comes to a few comic book writers. But then I see the way a lot of really vocal people on the Internet talk about things and... Yeah, I'm good.
Some people really will see a character being written slightly different and act like they got assaulted and fridged. And it's actually something really minor, temporary, and recent. Like people get sent death threats because they wrote some fictional, corporately owned character slightly different from the thing that whatever reader really liked (or just wants to see happen forever.) And it sucks. Oftentimes, the minor outrage drowns out and leaves little room for criticism of actually terrible decisions.
Like damn dude, I don't like some creators. But just decide to either move on and avoid their work, or give it a fair shot again if it's apparently good or interesting. And I at least try to read and (maybe) talk about things I actually like.
I refuse to cross the line where you value fictional blorbos more than human beings. I know what that looks like, and what horrible or lame nonsense people feel comfortable saying just to feel better. Usually it boils down to being really cool with bigotry.
