Ah, Granblue. It's not the gacha scene's biggest earner anymore, but is the venerable statesman of gacha RPGs, at least among EN mains (my impression of JP side is Puzzle & Dragons/Monster Strike have that role).

Gonna keep it a little simpler because I'm still working, but today's entry focuses on the thing Granblue has absolutely mastered: stunt-casting. Almost fully voiced from its early days, GBF now has so many characters in it that coordinating voice recording for new events and variants has become one of Cygames' biggest organizational challenges (and possibly their biggest non-payroll outlay).

Good example: Mireille and Risette exist mainly because someone at Cygames said "Hey, let's get Kaguya and Hayasaka from Kaguya-sama in the booth, then ship them." And they did. Mireille, the short one, is voiced by Aoi Koga (Kaguya), and Risette, the tall one, is voiced by Yumiri Hanamori (Hayasaka).

Mireille Shinonomiya and Risette Hayasaka

These two starred in their own event, Alchemist's Desire and appear in-game as an Earth-element duo unit. Even in the story they are very much Kaguya and Hayasaka, though the personalities have been altered just enough to suit the setting and avoid royalties. Mireille is a frail alchemist, and Risette is the homunculus body she created in an attempt to alchemy her way out of chronic disease. Problem: The body has a will of its own.

I don't remember much of the event they were in, but I do remember they end it trying to atone for a bunch of murders they did, but also being a super cute yuri/found-family pair, so who's to say they're bad or good.

All is forgiven
