I'm so happy to announce the return of Saturn Roulette to the channel. We've haven't seen the feature since April when my Saturn started having issues reading discs but no more as it is now equipped with an ODE and I am full of power. Before the ball drops over where I'm at, I wish to take a special look at Cubic Gallery with Edy & Disy. Before all this, we've got Yokai Buster which has been waiting for a while since it won that poll (I got sick then), Roza no Daibouken to finally finish out our Valkyrie quest, and Bomberman Hero. Read more for some history on Snakeman's Saturn Roulette.
The first Saturn Roulette was last year's New Year's special and the debut of my modern pngtuber design (I was so smol). It featured Saturn Bomberman Fight!!, Japanese Craig Stadler telling us off, Die Hard Arcade, plus a special full playthrough of Ninja Jajamaru-kun's 3D platformer. It was early days for both my pngtuber and the roulette but it'd only get better from there.
Episode 2 saw us attempt to bumble our way through a Puyo mystery dungeon in Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon. Then mastering penguin tank controls in Ninpen Manmaru. I also expose my weakness at shmups with the Gokujou Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack. A double dose of bad virtual on with Hyper Reverthion and a playthrough of Gebockers. The finale being a playthrough of iconic 2D fighter Battle Monsters featuring our boy Deathmask.
Episode 3 might be one of my favorites as we managed 4 complete playthroughs. We start with a playthrough of extremely rare Japan only game Psychic Killer Taromaru. Next we complete a strange cel animated fighter based on an anime called Ninku. Sega attempts to establish a new platform star with our playthrough of Clockwork Knight. We run out of gas sadly in the Choro Q Park but the rhythm revives me with a full playthrough of Jung Rhythm, a Parappa the Rappa clone with a lovable gremlin.
The last episode from 2022 was a special April 1st edition of the wheel. This is where technical difficulties plagued the wheel. Still we managed to have some foolish results. We start with a full playthrough of 3 Dirty Dwarves from the makers of Ecco the Dolphin. After that we meet Sega's other attempt at a platform star for the US with Bug! which I could not bring myself to keep playing. After some technical difficulties I needed to play something I knew worked so we looked at Fire Pro Wrestling: Blazing Tornado which is a port of the only Fire Pro arcade title. The finale is the amazing Matsukata Hiroki no World Fishing, an FMV fishing title featuring a yakuza film actor and gravure models.
What will the new year and new wheel bring? Can we top the highs of FMV fishing? Be there, December 31st 10pm EST where Edy and Disy hosts the return of Saturn Roulette. I'm giddy with excitement.
