Captain of the Dream Harrier & lover of games that are old, jank, and/or dank

I don't remember the last time I really took time out to watch fighting games, but I did catch a lot of Evo this year, including Uni 2, Tekken 8, and Street Fighter 6's finals. I've missed the comradery and the feeling of community that the FGC exudes. Its easy to pick out some of the top "old guard" figureheads for doing shithead things and the "stream monster" chat with their toxicity, but at the end of the day fighting games are about passionate people coming together in their own unique way and competing to see how they stack up. Even if you go 0-2 at an event, you're taking back with you a wonderful feeling that you are a part of something wonderful. Whether its a 12 man local or the glitz and glamor of a major, you're surrounding yourself with others who share in the same passion and I think that's beautiful.

So glad to see how it has grown and so glad to see a next generation continue that passion. No matter how corporate or "esports" these events become, it will always be about the people that put them together and the people that show up to throw down. With netcode for these titles getting better and better, you don't even need to travel or risk covid infection in order to belong. All you have to do is play the game and have fun. I'm kinda loopy and I keep writing but I have no idea what the point of this post was supposed to be anymore but I'm just glad this kind of thing helps distract me from the nightmare that my life can be sometimes. Whenever I'm feeling down I can reach out and fight someone and that is one thing I really cherish and missed a few years back. I guess I'd like to return to participating in CEO & CEOtaku, maybe even some Tampa Never Sleeps. Anyway, get out there and enjoy some good ass fighting games.

Man I really want to play some space taxi for C64. What if I renamed the Amiga Amigos to the Commodore Comrades.

What if I played through that Amiga Red Heat game with maybe a trainer for lives since it has no continues and seems euro hard. Did I finally find an Ocean game to adore? I wasn't sure it was possible.

I've never completed an amiga game before. Maybe Red Heat or Savage would be a good pick. I also have Lionheart and Leander on my list.

I should probably play the CGA dos version of El Capitan Trueno cause it seemed neat. CGA is such an aesthetic. I know some cga cards and compatible games can output more colors via composite out and that there's a few sets of colors for CGA, but that CGA pink and cyan is just nostalgic and delicious.
