What source is showing pulling directly from a piracy website!? Patreon?
I'm amazed that they can tell when traffic is coming from there but can't, y'know, actually stop it from coming from there. Amazing.
Haha. Kinda. I dont like including "patreon" as a source because that isn't a new source. That's like. Internal traffic? It 100% does not count.
Twitter is the Majority
I mean I was half joking but it really does go to show that twitter, which would tout itself as the best way to get eyes on yer shit, is coming in only slightly ahead of content scalpers and lags barely behind Everything Else. It's just not nearly as significant as collective wisdom would suggest as a platform.
Annoying as the piracy sources are, I view them as 'these people were never going to pay, so I've lost nothing'
Yah, it's less that, and more that they tend to pirate aggressively. Usually within the time range of 20 minutes to 15 hours of posting, from my observations
Considering my views on piracy of media in general I tend to just try to think of it as "advertising" so to speak.
If people were going to give me money, then they're probably going to seek my patreon out to throw funds my way to keep the content going. If they aren't, then they either couldn't afford it anyway or just weren't going to pay me. And if my shit being pirated gets their eyes on it when they wouldn't of seen it otherwise? Well then maybe that was helpful.
Yeah there ARE some people who would pay if it's restricted but won't if they can get it for free, but like, I can't do anything about the piracy stuff anyway so there's little use in tearing myself up about it.
It sucks but it's just a reality of our time.
people are pirating your stuff... the tier that is literally a SINGLE. DOLLAR.
I swear to god these lazy fuckers don't deserve anything.
The 1$ tier is unlisted, as a loyalty reward for founders who want to retain it,
but yeah it was still like this before that lol, just from my own observation on how aggressively I was getting reposted to Kparty. (20 minutes to 15 hours usually after a new post of any kind)
There are ways to root it out, like doing release pools via dropbox, and slowly narrowing down the pools.
Like the exact method used to save money on identifying viral outbreaks IRL, by only studying certain criteria before narrowing down sources?
But.. It is so much effort I'm uncertain its worth it.
The "other" makes me so mad and Ive complained about it to them multiple times before
