Final results of the marathon art event stuff:
prepared 3 weeks in advance (+ the 7 event days)
40 ideas, 5 cut.
3 images were not illustrated in full color.
1 spyro illustration was not posted due to the game being removed from the games schedule lol
Most of the images had alternate versions (usually dick/no dick alts OR boob/no boob alts. The Ratchet pic had AND alts)
The process! Form ideas when GDQ (agdq and/or sgdq) posts their finalized games schedule. This is usually 1 to 2 months in advance of the marathon.
Work on ideas 3 weeks in advance alongside normal work.
When event starts: Focus entirely on marathon.
I had around 12? maybe 13 images prepared in advance before it started on Sunday (Jun 30)?
Cuts:
Virtual Boy Wario Land (Didnt like any of the sprites)
SC Brood War (Didnt want to draw Terran armor, it turns out)
Mad Panic Coaster (Awesome art, but game too obscure)
KH2 Final Mix (I just didnt know what to do and nobody complained)
MGS 4 (Thought Frog was too complex)
Some of the obscure inclusions though, like Phantoon instead of picking Ridley or Samus.. were just for my own personal fun lol.
Because sometimes it's fun to pick weird characters who are still prominent in the game, due to being major bosses.
