It still floors me how boring the writing style in Strata is compared to Colour of Magic. Discworld is such a treat, beautifully prepared and presented. Just the first few paragraphs of Colour of Magic blow Strata out of the water.
Strata is so dry and straightforward, openly stating its intent and following through on its announcements a few pages later. It's so shocking how his writing style changed. Strata reads like someone trying to describe a hearty meal with only its table of nutrition facts.
Anyway, I'm in the middle of Reaper Man, and it's a great fun. It kept me up late. Incredibly funny and thoughtful.
