This one requires some explanation:
This is one of those pieces of gaming history that will likely be lost someday, but knowing that someone at Third Law clearly had a lot of fun dunking on Ion Storm Dallas fills my heart with joy. There's also a lot more going on with Dominion and its relation to Ion Storm, as well as KPC, but that's a post of its own.
this shit feels like a half life era fps game that you missed and you hear about from a weird youtuber who won't stop talking about how cool it is. the game is awesome. everyone should play zortch
One of my favorite features of this game is how it manages to reference almost every FPS from the 90s in subtle or overt ways. One of the enemies is even a reference to PO'ed! But unlike a bad ep of Family Guy, you don't even need to know what any of those references are, as the game stands on its own.
It's criminal that this game is just $5, so you should buy five times as many copies to make up for that! That or buy it on itch.io, where you can tip the creator by paying whatever you want above the base price.
Capstone Software's first attempt at chasing the FPS trend, preceding a string of similarly underwhelming [if not occasionally ambitious] genre titles. Features a then-novel "aliens versus soldiers" multiplayer mode.
I have a huge soft spot for this game, and in many ways I like it better than Wolf 3D.
