Hi! You can call me Key, or Gem, or Scarf, or something else!
This is my main page, and prior to Dec 8th, 2023, my posts were all on this page. Posts before that date range in subject matter from furry transformation to foam dart blaster reviews, but now I have separate pages for a few of these categories.
For gamedev and other game design talk, check out @DevGem.
To be inundated by the relentless furryposting of a TF-obsessed magic-user, visit @MagicScarf.
If you like toys, or if you’re bored, give @CollectorKey a look.
I’m asexual, and also very gender-fluid, so don’t worry too much about pronouns.

An idea for an iteration on the kind of story @lorenziniforce has been writing. Check some of those out if you haven’t already before proceeding!

This was originally gonna be an ask sent to her but got too lengthy and wasn’t actually much of a question anyways, just an idea :P

Anyways here’s the premise: the subject of the story goes through the whole meeting a dragon thing, and the dragon is like “oh you don’t realize? You’re a dragon too”, and they start transforming… but instead of it feeling more and more right to them, they become more and more visibly confused and concerned.

They insist that they’re not actually a dragon, and the other dragon is like “wdym, I just awakened your flame, you transformed and everything”, but then the human-turned-dragon reveals that, no, seriously, they aren’t a dragon, and in fact, they’ve known about the dragon-awakening phenomenon for a long time.

So then the two of them work together to figure out what the hell actually happened. If the powerful dragon that was sensed here wasn’t this former human, then who was it? Why did said human give off the “scent” of a dragon when they aren’t one? Why would they then transform as if being awakened when it isn’t actually right for them at all?

I think there’d need to be more to it than just this premise, largely because it’d just kinda suck to have the main character stuck in a form that isn’t right for them for, like, the entire thing. Not that they’d necessarily hate being a dragon, but it wouldn’t be the best fit for them, and they’d probably get into some antics of just being unable to keep the fact that they’ve turned into one in their head (repeatedly forgetting to mind their horns and tail when moving, for example, so they keep bonking them into stuff. I’m sure that could happen with a “true” dragon too but for this character it’d be like an “ugh how inconvenient” thing).

This is another reason why I made this its own post instead of an ask, because the dragon I would’ve been sending this to would probably greatly prefer to write about former humans who do love being dragons.

But yeah, in summary: dragon goes up to human and says “you’re actually a dragon but you don’t realize it”, human turns into a dragon, human then reveals “no I’m really seriously not supposed to be a dragon”, the rest of the story is about figuring out why any of this occurred (it’s probably some kind of curse or magic or some other plot larger than both of them).
